WTF!? You got it right my friend.

The SugMag coupled with the amazing UJB (of Dec fame; on the remastered WorkMan) is indeed from 10-4-70!

Check this out if only to hear William Tell's fav of all time...sure the vocals could be better, but listen to Jerry and Phil on this...makes you recall how special is was to have Winterland in your backyard!

Thanks LIA...you will be rec'ing a huge Karmic payoff for this, I am absolutely certain.

And now it is confirmed: the original Mammary Productions bootleg is obviously taken ENTIRELY from this show, 4 October.

What this means is that the UJB, listed as 12-23-70 from the remastered WorkManDead, is in fact from 10-4!

Compare and correct me if I am wrong...

Keen ears, Mr Tell - the Workingman's Dead reissue is indeed mislabeled, the UJB is from 10/4/70 and not 12/23/70.... Must've been some confusion in the vault!

If you direct your ears to the "edited version" of Viola Lee on the Grateful Dead reissue that CPW mentioned, you'll find it is a different version than the album take....though it's chopped into tiny pieces.
I read somewhere, Garcia said they recorded a few takes of Viola Lee and picked the one they liked best for the album, so it's likely more complete takes are in the vault. No doubt waiting for the "super-duper-double-disc-reissue" next decade....

that'd almost be worth the wait, to get the uneviserated alternate serious '67 studio take of Viola Lee, to be restored for the 50th anniversary of the bummer of love in 2017!
